does anyone know a part # and/or where i can get stock replacement differental mounting studs, just got an IFS rear axle from the junkyard today minus the third, a couple of the mounting studs are snapped

i already read up on converting to bolts, but i'd really like to stick with stock replacement

It says those are for an 8" front axle, but the rear should be the same being's that it's the same 3rd member.

I submitted those part numbers as rear axle numbers from my 88...but they were categorized as front axle parts. The "long" studs are for the elocker axle for mounting the motor.

You can also use some M8-1.25 x 35 and 40 mm long allen screws. Install from the inside of the flange facing out.

Otherwise, I have a few spare short studs if you want to keep studs in there.

 

i seen the allen screw conversion somewhere but i cant find it now

Hmmm, was there an e-locker available in 87-88? Not that I have a better answer as to what they're for.

I have 2 rear axles. One that was stock on my 88 pickup, the other I pulled off an 87 4Runner.

They both have 8 short studs, and 2 long studs for mounting the 3rd member. The 2 long studs are located in the same holes on each axle. 1 in what would be the 12:30 position hole. The other 1 in the 5:30 hole.

 

No e-locker at that time. All the 3rds I have seen have two longer mounting studs, 4-cyl, V6 and high pinion. Not sure if the long ones are the same length as the e-locker 3rd. 35mm and 40mm are about the right lengths for the others.

 

Like Roger said, not available for that year. I retrofitted a 99 TRD Tacoma elocker into my 88. I was mistaken when I said the long stud part number was for the elocker motor. The correct part number for the longer elocker motor studs is 90116-08330. Sorry for the confusion!
