5.0 fordrunner SWAPP!!!!???

Alright, so I have been trying to plan what engine I am going to use to do my swap. I have a 1995 4runner with the 3slug that currently is acting up… I have been researching into 1 and 2j swaps and the 7m swaps as well and then it dawned on me that I have a 1987 5.0 fully dressed engine at my disposal with the trans that comes with it. So the question is (seeing it can actually fit in the car) is it possible to swap a 5.0 into a 4runner? so far I've only read of older tacos doing it and I know I would defiantly need some type of custom stuff and for sure a custom wiring harness. Personally, in the end I think it would be worth it. But how the samhell do I do it???? Does anyone have any type of info on this?

There are a few 5.0 4runners on here I believe. Look through the engine swap section

No worries. We were all new once. A lot of people like Toyota motor swaps for reliability and fuel millage. The 3.4 is a great v6 with awesome potential.

When you start putting power adders to an engine the reliability goes down to an extent.
If your looking for power with an engine swap, the old saying is true. There is no replacement for displacement.
When I was planning my engine swap for my 4Runner I was almost set on a 3.4, already had all the parts needed to do the swap. Was researching power adders and supporting mods. Then decided to go ahead and start with a V8 platform. I would be about the same power with the stock V8 as a modded 3.4

I should have specified I will be using a 5.3L Chevy V8. There are a few Toyota V8's to swap but the power output is lower

A jet engine will fit with the right amount of work. The original small block chevy are popular swaps. Not too many of the new LS engines swapped into toyotas that I've seen. They have huge aftermarket support though.
I have all my big parts for my swap but it will be a while before I get started on it.

Will do, it might be a few years though if it happens at all. Had to buy other things and right now on the fence about a new job that I will be gone almost all the time. Time will tell though
