33by12.5 fittment

Ok let me start off by saying i have made good use of the search function on this forum. I have a 95 4runner and have some tiny 225/75?/15 on it. I bought me a set of the factory aluminum wheels strictly because i think they look great. My problem lies in the tires that i want to put on the truck. I was able to get a pair of 33/12.5 tires from a friend who owns a car lot who has them mounted on wheels for a jeep that had a 6by5.5 bolt pattern. So heres the ? Can i A) fit the tires on my 7in wheels? B) Would the wheels off the jeep fit backspacing being the main question? Also i was wondering how much rubbing will be going on? I am going to lift the truck(OME,Downey) around Christmas, but money is tight now. I will do any cutting or hammering necessary to fit the tires. Thanks for the help in advance guys

If you want to cut and hammer the truck, then any size tire will fit. The tires will fit on the 7" rims, but I would recommend 8" or wider rims.

You can fit a 12.50 on a stock wheel, Marc P did it...

Thanks for the reply. When i said i would cut wasn't meaning cut the whole truck up but i would do a decent amount of trimming or pounding out the lip on the wheel well. Thanks a lot of the link to the thread with pics.

Do you ever 'wheel the truck?

If so, it's going to take EXTENSIVE work to make them fit properly with no lift.

33x10.50 will fit on the stock rims with no lift GUARANTEED

go for it

I ran 32X11.50 w/ a 15X7 rim and 4.5" backspacing on stock suspension for a while. I rubbed on the front at full lock and/or full stuff. I rubbed the rear when offraoding at minimal articulation. 33's are definitely a tall tire for stock suspension but it will fit. The only issue i see is using a jeep rim is the back spacing. I dont know what B/S they have but be careful. The last thing you want is the wheel/tire to make contact w/ your suspension. Just my 2c!

meh - hitting the suspension is not a big deal, it's not going anywhere.

Hitting the fender IS a big deal, as it will rip off.

Stay narrow and avoid all these issues completely ...

The question isn't if the 12.50's will fit on a 7" wheel (they will), it's if you can find a shop that will actually mount them on a 7" wheel.
