The brownish, red stuff is compliments of wisconsin!!! it actually looks alot worse than it is,the frame itself is alot more solid than it seems. By all means use the pics ....thats how i learned, the link looks good to me. again, thanx for the input and info.!!!!

1----with the truck/runner in normal stance on flat ground, measure the spot where the coil would be located at.
2----flex the rear suspension is a cross ditch or similar to get the wheel to drop as far as it ever hopes to drop and take a new measurement where the coil would be located. If the distance is much over 14 inches then a spacer would need to be fabbed on either end of the coil to keep it tight when off-roading or flexing. Nobody that has a stockish Runner has ever ran into that issue so far....not sure about pick-ups as they have a higher arch in the back of the frame.

Mine was completely stock, i probably could have gone with a 12" 100# spring, but i haul a trailer for firewood, boat etc.also id like to add,i live in wisconsin,so the most i get into is trails, mud, no real rock climbing,so,i personally think that for a close to stock ride and a slight rake, with really good clearance for 32x11.5x15 BFG A/Ts, the 14s 125# and a slight t-bar crank (2 full turns) is the way to go.also, its inexpensive enough that if you want to try the 12" 100# springs and you dont care for em',you can swap em out.im sure someone on here will give you a few bucks for em'. win win.

ZUK- thanks for the advice I'm gonna get that done this weekend..weather permitting.
cman- good point about it being cheap enough to switch to the 14" spring if the 12s don't cut it. did the 32s rub at all with stock suspension? thanks
I'll post up some pics after I decide and complete the mod

another little tip i just remembered,my bottle jack wasnt quite high enough,so i used the upper (metal) bump stop i had cut off as a spacer on top of the leaf spring to set the jack on...if that makes sense. Have fun!

hey cman1- I saw a thread where you sold the awesome Runner and got this pick-up.....is the new owner aware of the coil?
So, this pick-up looks like it has a 4" front IFS lift....and does that mean it has some nasty 3~4" blocks in the back? Sweet ride by the way.

I'm gunna go with the 12" to obtain stock height.
but
I have an extra cab pickup with a shell and a carpet kit bed setup..
with the extra weight I was thinking of using the 175 lbs. springs instead of the 150's
any thoughts...?
I'll also need new bump stops? should I get new poly rubbers as well..?

i went to do this on my new project 4runner but noticed it doesn't have any lower bump stops. I looked around and can find any part for this truck (it's an 85) does anyone have a PN for the lower bump stops? or a good place to get them?
