Won't start!

I've got an 86 runner 22re and the problem I'm having is it won't start! When I turn the key to the start position all I get is the Charge red light on the dash nothing else. The radio works and the door chime, but won't click or turn over, nothing. Does anyone know where to start? It was running earlier today before I parked it. Any help would be great, Thanks!!

Well the problem is back! This morning went to drive the runner and it started up and drive around town fine. Then the charge light and parking brake light came on and it would not start again. Same symptoms as before! I have since replaced the neg. battery terminal clamp and connections, checked the fuses in the driver's side kick panel, and tried to jump start it. Nothing! Any help would be great. Thanks!!!

12.25 currently. It seems when I remove and then reinstall the fuses in the black box behind the battery the truck starts again. The fuses look to be ok. Is there connections under the box that could be tighted?

I tighted up the wires under the 80A fuse in the black fuse box behind the battery (one of the screws was on its last thread). That might have been the problem? The battery is holding at 14.52 running right now. Thanks for the help again!! I'll keep posting if that doesn't work.

ive had a problem similar to this. check to make sure your positive connections to the battery are secure. if you have a good connection to all wires other than the one going to the starter itself then everything will work except for the starter, and this includes the starter relay. so you turn the key and it clicks but nothing happens. something to look into

Guys I just went through the same problems, I wired a push button like this. Power from battery with a 30amp fusible link to push button, from push button to starter ignition wire(the small one) I had a ghost in that wire, and now I can start it with my key and my ignition, has not given me any problems since. I trouble shot every component in the start system and that wire had a break in somewhere, all in all it was a 20 dollar fix, As long as your starter is still good of course.
