Trying Bring my 85 back to life, need help!
She's been sitting for about 10 years now and I'm finally trying to get her cleaned up on the road again before her bfg shoes rot away. She runs fine at idle but when I put her on gear and start to move the engine bogs down and wants to die, no power at all. I've replaced the entire fuel system from the tank to injectors, because my dumb ass left old has sitting in it for ten years or more. Any help would be great.
To start I rebuilt the transmission, that was the original reason it was parked. Since then I replaced the entire fuel system. Repaired a cracked air intake hose with duct tape, found some wiring issues and half assed fixed them, went through the vacuum lines to ensure they are correctly hooked up, and replaced the brake booster

Yes it's throwing codes, don't know what they are. I had a new engine completely rebuilt heads and all about 2 years before the tranny started to go and it's been flashing codes ever since. But it drove fine.
I got the fuel pump from Oreillys or AutoZone can't remember.
I rebuilt the tranny last summer and was able to start and drive the truck but ran very rough. That's when I dropped the fuel tank, cleaned the rust out and changed the fuel pump. Still ran rough but would drive.
This summer I replaced everything else, fuel tank, fuel pressure regulator, pressure damper, injectors etc.

Figure out what codes are showing and start from there. Make sure valves are adjusted properly, timing set properly, TPS set properly. IDK if you can see if the timing chain is properly installed with the cover on. Check for vacuum leaks. The tape in the intake hose is not ideal but if it's actually sealing should be ok for now. Wiring to the injectors are sometimes an intermittent problem when they are old and crusty. All wiring actually. Troubleshooting the codes is a good place to start.
NICE truck by the way.

Update
Well I read some reviews on the I injectors I bought on Amazon and one of them said they were dumping too much fuel into the engine and making it run like mine is. So I replaced them with a set of denso remans from eBay motors. The truck will move now but only about a hundred yards before acting stupid again. Feels like something in the front end isn't wanting to turn so I will be looking into that.
How do you check the codes on this old beast, and will it flash codes from the old engine still? Also a lot of my sensors don't work, oil pressure, and temp sensor for sure.

Codes
Well out of about 15 possible codes it's flashing 12 of them, I wonder if the computer went bad sitting for ten years. Also, after I rebuilt the tranny I could not locate the other end of the electrical plug, could that be why it dies when I put it in gear and start to move?

I doubt it, the entire history of user is copy and pasting from other users in the same thread, been quite a few of these in the last few months. I reported a few today from this user but can’t remember if this is one of the threads.
