Suspension suggestions: 94 Single cab 4x4

Got a 94 P/U

[IMG][/IMG]

Currently has 7" of lift, 4' block in rear w/shackles (havent measured them) 4" lift up front (not sure what its called but it moves the position of the front cross member 4" up, and 3' body lift.

The only pic i could find that showed the rear suspension.

I am going to start in the back, so my question is what route should i go. To answer this question i will tell you what i will be using it for and what kinda terrain i frequent to help you get a better understanding of what would work for me.

I live in Florida, I hunt, and i love to go off road, preferably climbing the small hills we have here in Ocala area, mainly sand and washout hills from the rain, every once in a while some mud, i also use it as a DD to and from work until i get a company van to take home. I need keep the bed as usable as possible so no extreme LT stuff but might be open to some LT in the rear, my goal is to be able to get the MOST articulation, most comfort and most support with my setup. Every once in a while i will be hauling stuff, nothing serious though, like a 8-10 ft trailor or small John boat. Basilcly im looking for something that doesn't throw me around when going fast and at the same time has great articulation for crawling around on uneven terrain.

I have thought about coils or LT or 63 chevy springs, and i plan on keep her a long time so i am going to want to invest in it with possibly buying Fox or the like. I like OME and Bilstein but just not sure what setup works best with different combinations. In other words i want a quality dampening to go with my spring, coil setup.

I should mention that i plan on putting a camper shell with a roof rack (which i will have a jerry can, jack, lights etc... mounted to it) so i will be adding some weight to the rear as well. And have at least a couple dogs when taking them out hunting, as well as all the gear, coolers, you know the rest.

Thanks guys

If your just wanting to remove the 4" blocks but still have the 4" of lift then I suggest the following.

Get your self a set of 2" lift shackles plus a AAL that should be very close to 4" of lift. You can do the Zuk Mod as we'll to achieve a better load rating. Depending on which coils you choose of course.

Now you can always go to trail gear or somewhere else and buy a classic rear lift which will be springs and all hardware including some shocks for around 5-6 hundred bucks.

As far as shocks go I can't help ya there. I'm not much on choosing those things

Be aware of pinion flange angles, as when they get skewed via shackle lifts you could have some vibrations. Google, ( rear driveshaft pinion angles )

things
They are $768, nice setup though, i may already have a few of the items like shackle mounts and little stuff might be able to save some money that way, i also like the Creeper Joint shackle mount, looks like a good design. If i were to go this route i would wait until tax return time and buy it then, that would probably be the only way i could afford it. I think for now that might be an option especially since tax season is around the corner.
