Hey guys, if I take out the Thermostat will my truck run cooler? I don't have any of the symptoms that are described in the head gasket blogs! No white smoke out of exhaust, no milky oil color, no leaks anywhere. So, why still overheating? If I take out thermo will it run cooler? Should I try it? Need my Toyo back! I miss having a truck. I put in a new radiator. Still overheats! What to do? Any suggs.?

Please give us some details about your truck, like year, pickup/4runner, engine, miles, etc..
Are you loosing coolant or is the level staying normal? If the thermo is stuck closed it could be causing you to overheat. You could try taking it out to see if it helps. It will definitely run cooler without a thermo unless there is another issue. A worn out water pump or clogged coolant passage(s) in the engine can also cause it to overheat. If it keeps overheating, you will eventually have HG issues if you don't already so pull over and kill the motor if the temp rises. Somtimes a HG can leak just between the coolant passage and the combustion chamber and you won't see any leaks or water in the oil. However, you'd probably be seeing white smoke or excessive water out the tailpipe, running/idling rough, and you'd definitely be loosing coolant.
When was the water pump last replaced? Normally it is replaced with the timing belt every 90K or so (recommended).

Are you truly overheating as in boiling over or could it be a bad temp sender firing a false reading to the gauge? Bad water pump? Belt slipping on the water pump? Plugged hoses?

Liquid Head Gasket repair-Spectra Premium CU50 ?
Has anyone tried the liquid head gasket repair , called Spectra Premium CU50? They have so many good customer reviews! Can I believe their claims? They offer a walk-through phone service and money-back deal if it does not work! The guy actually takes you through the whole process on the phone, while you are doing the process! Sounds too good to be true. Any info would be deeply appreciated! I just took out the thermostat! I'm waiting for a warm day to re-install the lower hose to the engine block. Silicon gasket sealant won't cure unless its warm! The Toyota 1993 V6 5 speed thermostat is on the lower hose engine block mount! Three nuts are a bear to get at! A deep 12mm mini- socket and ratchet is required too. I really miss driving my truck! Wish me luck! Any info will help greatly! Thanks.Triumphman 4-9-11

Don't do it. It is only designed for a temp. fix. It will plug your entire cooling system up. Then you will be replacing the engine and your cooling system...
Find the cause of the overheating problem. The systems are really easy.
Check:
1. Thermostat. Replace with an OEM one from the dealer.
2. Radiator. Make sure it's not plugged up.
3. Radiator Cap. There cheap from the dealer and I consider them a maint. item.
4. Water pump. How many miles are on it?
5. Fan Clutch. Make sure it has some resistance
6. Temp. Sensor for the gage.
How to test them can all be found by searching on this forum.
