speedometer went out!

speedometer went out!

my speedometer went out. and i was wondering where should i start.
i've dont speedocables on Humvees but never on my truck. Where should I start? Speedocable (is there one) a sensor?

Post some specs about your truck in your signature, so tht we know what we are dealing with. 3rd gen trucks, like in your avatar, had both mechanical and electronic speedos, depending on year and engine/transmission.

BAMF: What year is your truck? If its a 92-94 you have an electronic speedo. If its 89-91 or 95, it has a cable. The cable drives typically make a TON of noise before failing completely. The electronic speedos fail at the sensor, and they often fail without warning.
