P0500 and a flame thrower...
Okay, so I have had the dreaded P0500 check engine light, the ABS light came on, VSC, ABS, and check engine. Pulled code, P0500 is the issue.
I replaced the right front vehicle speed sensor as testing it revealed it was not showing the correct specs according to vehicle manual with a scope. (My friend who is much better at electronics and stuff) fixed this.
We disconnected battery, rubbed ourselves in oil, did a rain dance, and the speedometer and odometer is still not working.
Is the next step taking it to a deal to get a diagnosis or can I borrow a flame thrower. Or is there another issue. Speedometer I know can be bad, so can the ECU for the stuff, but we KNOW the right front vehicle speed sensor was bad.
thanks guys.
Matt
p.s. i am hoping it is working, I just need ot somehow magistically clear the code or reset it so it works again...and a toyota dealer can somehow do this?
