safety inspection-windshield on an '85

I have to get ready for an inspection sticker on my 85 half-pick, and have a crack in the windshield. The problem is somebody boosted my windshield trim corners. The junkyards are coming up empty on replacements. My question is this, are there sources for the metal trim, or can I get an aftermarket gasket that will allow me to ditch the trim. Original appearance is not a huge priority! lol

Does your state require them to be there? If not, and since you don't care about appearance, why not just fill it with windshield goop and call it good?

That sounds like a good call. I have a very accommodating inspection guy, who doesn't look too close. It looks like the original windshield is just glued onto a bead of windshield goop, and doesn't have much of a gasket.

Update: the glass installer was very cool. We ditched the trim, and used a generic gasket. He got an extra $20 for being helpful!
