removing crank pulley

Is there any way of removing a crank pulley from a 22re that is on an engine stand with no flywheel. Any way other than an impact gun?

put the bolts in on the flywheel side, and use a bar to hold it aginst one of the arms that are holding the motor, then use a breaker bar to get the bolt free, and lots or wd-40 or pb blaster to free the rust...

Put it back in the truck and try the bump method with the starter.

Sorry, couldn't resist

Good luck

use an old rubber hose and wrap it around the pulley, than install above tool and hold with ratchet or breaker bar and loosen bolt.

I can take the pan off and do this but I am not too sure it is a great idea. I think i am going to bite the bullet here and order a nice impact gun and just start the dis-assembly of the top end now.

Okay, so I used 2 different impact guns with no luck... I resorted to putting a 15mm deep impact socket wedged between the rod cap and the side of the block. With a 1/2in breaker bar and 2 jack handles attached to it for leverage we finally got it to break free.It is amazing what 15+ years of life can do to a bolt!

I've put 2x4 in between crank n block to get 1 out b4 tried all the methods above none worked for me . Thing was on there. Used the wood and about a 4foot 3/4 inch ratchet. Never had such a problem with one b4
