I believe you can jack the front end up and check for play by moving the tires. Block the rear so it doesn't roll, just jack stands and once it's in the air you can grab the tire at 9 and 3 (like on a clock) and try to move the tire left and right. Have someone watch while you shake the tire, or you watch while they shake it, and see if you get any "play" in the tie rod ends.

Don't quote me on that procedure but I think that's an easy drive way diagnosis method.

Item number160578832795 seems like a good deal considering that the idler arm and pitman arm are both over 100 bucks here in canada and thats with my discount from napa

If they are not worn out don`t mess with them.

I have a 4runner born in 87 that still has all the factory front end parts.except wheel bearings.

One never knows about ebay things most of it is good but sometimes . Check out the feedback from buyers and go from there.

Whats a sure way to know those are all worn out. I know this runner wasnt well maintained and im starting to get a click when in reverse also getting a weird brake problem. Some days they seem to work fine others really weird have new pads rotors and shoes drums spring kit ect. Its like its shutters and vibrates the front a bit. Other days it seems fine minus the air in there. Im starting to wonder if the lspv isnt worn out. I just got a 1000 worth of tires and dont wanna have them put on until i find out what all needs replacing.

As far as the brakes go you should probably drain the entire system and put in new fluid. Best way to do that (that I know of) is to use a turkey baster-thingy (what ever you call it) and suck the fluid out of the reservoir, refill it with new fluid, then go to the LSPV and bleed it until you get new fluid to that point. Be sure and check the res often so you don't suck air in there and top it off as needed. Then go to the drivers side rear and bleed until you get new fluid there, same with the passengers side rear, passengers side front and drivers side front in that order. It takes a little time but is well worth it. Brake fluid should NOT be all brown and dirty looking.

Do you have any odd wear on your front tires now??

Did you rotate them like you should every once in a while.

Checking for loose or worn front suspension parts is one of those things you learn over time. With the vehicle both on and off the ground look for things that are loose or just move in a way they shouldn`t.

Without knowing what a good tight front end is like it is hard to have a base line to compare to.

Any of the manuals can give you a good idea where to start.

A good front end alignment shop that knows 4X4 is an option although a lot are clueless. Because once you start changing out parts you will need a front end alignment.

I wish I was close enough to help

Thanks. I appreciate it. Help is rare where i live. Unless your paying someone but im cheap for that. The fronts do have a bit of weird wear, passenger side is good except the inside. Looks like hunks of tread were ripped off from rubbing or something. The driver side is almost to wear bars. The garage where my uncle works is where im getting my tires and alignment done.

When you go to get your alignment if you have bad front suspension parts it will make it almost impossible to do the alignment.

At this time they will tell you you need this or that before we can do the alignment. As it is a Toyota parts will most likely need to be ordered.

Good luck

So I have a 1990 2 dour 4runner 22re and my rear window takes two people to get it up and down.. I'm wondering weather it would be easier and cheaper to just fix it or to leave it down and bolt in a canopy window back there.. or would it even fit?

cheers
