A dana 30 is alot weaker than the toyota front, go with a 44 if they yota front isnt your thing. A good friend of mine had one in his yj and it was always breaking. Also the yota axle will line up with the sas kit with less fabrication than either dana. And keeping it all Toyota adds cool points(only my opinion)

The only thing worse than a d30 is a d35, of course the 35s are rear axles. Ditch the 30 and get a yota axle. They can run anywhere from 150 to 400+, depends on your area and their availability and popularity.

why do you want to SAS? strength? the IFS is plenty strong. if you need (allot) more articulation, the toyota 8inch is the cheapest way, you wont need new wheels, you know it will fit, and it comes with the same gears as your rear. birfiels do not break easy. if you need stronger ones get longfiels or drewfields. and the toyota front axle itself is plenty strong... good luck man.

Are you serious? The IFS in the truck you have now is prolly stronger...
Not to mention the above posts about 5 lugs and left hand drop...
You found a D30? Use your same sleuthing skills and find a Toyota axle? If you can weld for the SAS, you can weld on gussets b/c that's the only thing that changed on Toyota SFA's...

That's b/c ppl like you think they can handel 44's stock, and they weld up or locker the front and try to turn sharp with them.
Birfields brake more easily in a turn than a U joint, but I think, and could be wrong, straight ahead they're stronger than a D30 or D44... Can't remember where I heard that. And could be wrong.
Cruise on over to a guy named Bobby Long (Longfields) and see what he has...
And stop right there on putting another Dana axle under it... You will lose a TON of ground clearance doing that, and add TONS of width to your truck... Just get a fullsize Chebby if that's what you want. You'll be very happier in the long run.
