Question about buying truck

Hey everyone, this is my first post on this forum. I am searching for a decent toyota pickup for a reasonable price. I came across one on craigslist and have been in contact with the seller a few times. They are selling there 1993 3.0L Toyota pickup with 161,000 miles. My question is how long do the clutches normally last in these trucks, the owner has had the vehicle for that past 8 years and has yet to do a clutch. Also, do you think that is a lil to high of milage for a pickup truck that is gonna cost me around $3000. Thanks in advance

My first clutch got 175,000 km out of it. The second one lasted a miserable 4000 km, thanks to getting stuck really badly and having the slave cylinder get wedged half engaged.

A clean, well taken care of truck with 161,000 miles on it for $3000 is not a bad deal at all. Waring though, I dont trust those 3.slows at all, I'd rather play it safe and go for the 22RE. Also, just like freddy suggested take it to a shop and have them do all sorts of diagnostic and system checks on it before buying, most important thing you can do.

My buddy just bought a 91 with the 3.0, guy he got it from said the knock was just a valve, he took it to a reputable shop and they said either rod or vavle... turned out to be a rod and were doing the engine swap for another 3.0 as we speak.

Main line, BE CAREFUL AND PATIENT! find exactly what you want and dont settle.

That is the best advice I have heard in a long time, thanks for your input and I will plan on bringing my compression tester. In that picture of the red truck...what was done to that to make it look like that, I love the bumper and the black rims. What kind of lift is on it?
