They may or may not. On stock wheels with decent shape stock springs, perhaps, but with aftermarket wheels they will likely rub at the back of the front wheel well. Had a buddy with a stock '85 and some aftermarket wheels and he needed a 1" body lift or some 1" lift shackles to clear those tires.

35's at stock front height. Lots of fender trimming inside and some work to the A-arms to work with stock alloys.

i've seen 31x10.5's on most every stock pickup body style. i've had 31's on stock 82 p/u, 84 4 runner, 86 p/u, 89 p/u, 94 p/u. never had a 31 rub in any. on the body lift, i have 33's one my 94 which a 3 inch body, and on my 82 which is the same suspension as yours, i can turn 33x12.5's stock. ALMOST can turn 35x12.5's if it dont flex. i've seen 33's on a 85 stock, a man down the road has it right now, drives it every day with them.

Your 82 has a different suspension than mine.

But yeah, when I first put on the 35's, I could fit em, but they rubbed a bit at full lock, and a lot when flexed. I cut a bunch out, now they fit great at full lock and full flex.

I am bookmarking this thread. I will be getting tires for my 95 soon but I have not decided if I am going to lift it first. I would like to get a set of 33's comfortably nested under it.

i'm planning on doing a 2" body lift on my 94 4x4 pickup. when I get new tires, i'm going to get some 16" wheels. What are the biggest tires I could get without trimming inner fenders or working on the A arms?

AxleIke, your truck looks good with 35's. They actually dont look to big to be on a stock height truck.

31 10.50's but their on 15x10 wheels with 0 offset. The same tires were on 15x8 wheels with +35 offset and they rubbed like crazy.

BFGoodrich Rugged Trail Tires

I am about to purchase some 265/75R16 BF Goodrich Rugged Trail tires for my 2000 4Runner and I am just trying to figure out what size wheel i can put this tire on. Also will I need any wheel spacers and or a lift kit?

Thanks

That size will fit fine.

From my experience, I wouldn't go with the Rugged Trail tires.... I would look into the Nitto Terra Grapplers, Bridgstone Dueler Revo's or BFGoodrich A/T's. All have a better tread life I believe.

what will my 1986 4runner fit under it with a 4" rough country lift on stock rims? i Know rough country says 33x12.5's but everyone on hear says you can clear 33's with alittle triming. So im thinking i must be able to clear 35's!

Look at the top of the page. Mine is on 35's and has no lift. You'll be able to fit 35's just fine.
