The plan: bigger tires with grip, yet smooth for highway rollin - I seldom get off-road...so no need for muslingers or big knobby paddle wheels... Pics are welcome...
Goodyear wrangler radials. 235/75/r15. Won't break the bank, long lasting, quiet, I feel like it fills the wheel wells good enough. I have a 3" body lift (which I hate) so I don't know about clearance issue for you.

31"x12.5x15 with 1" body lift. probably the maximum height tire for you with stock gears.

I Just got my first Toyota, its a 1996 4Runner, I am brand new to the Toyota (small 4wheel drive) world. Right now its sitting on stock tires/rims. Well according to the owners manual the stock tire size is P265x70r16, and it has P245x75r16. My question is, I want to do a 4" lift and 33x12.5 tires. Will that fit without having to cut the wheel wells bigger? Also will that be enough ground clearance for good 4wheeling/basic mud (I don't do rock crawling)?

Thanks.

I have a stock (no lift) '98 Tacoma ext. cab 4x4 with the 3.4L. I've been running 31x10.5-15 BFG TA KOs for years on Enkei 15x7 wheels. The tires are near time for replacement and I came across a deal for BFG TA KO2s in 32x11.5-15 ...... the guy bought them and totaled his truck before installing them. Anyway I searched the thread and can't find a direct answer to my two questions. Can I use the 32x11.5-15s on the 15x7 wheels? And will the 32x11.5-15s fit on the Tacoma with any major modifications? Thanks! And if this was answered before and I missed it, I apologize.

Edit: BTW, the truck has Bushwacker fender flares if that makes a difference.

Rim query

my '85 4x4 with a straight axle doesn't seem to allow me to use rims off of later model yotas. Are there any exceptions to this?

If anyone is wondering, my 95 will run 285/70R-17 tires with a -1mm offset and only run at full lock stock height, however, the Toyo MT 33x10.50x15 on stockers should not run at all. Planning on doing once I do my motor swap, or seeing if I can do wheels and 35s with minimal suspension and body lift.

My '85 truck 4x4 is stock with 235x75 15 tires and painted wheels. Will a set of 31x10.5r 15 tires on 8" wheels with a 3.75 BS rub ? Just bought it and found a used set of 8x15-3.75 wheels that sure would look better IMO.
