NoOb SAS attempt..
Ok so while i save up for a good SAS kit im hunting for a Toy axle for it. This is what ive found.. Im not too familiar with the terminology so im just gonna assume that i will need the piece that goes over the ball ends which holds the brakes and whatnot? How much am i looking at ($$) for the rest of the parts i need? And where can i find them. And since ill be looking for them couldnt i upgrade to some stronger brakes..Tundra brakes or something? Heres what im about get..any help or advice is appreciated..

If you don't even know what a knuckle is...you shouldn't be doing your own SAS.
SEARCH a heckva lot more than you may have already attempted to.
How much money? Depends how far you go...Longs, Gears, Locker, 6 shooter knuckles, trussing, etc. etc., your in pretty deep $2500-3000 sounds close
My 82 axle under my 79 is using Stock shafts, junkyard 4.56 3rd, FJ60 rotors, V6 IFS calipers, Marlin HD seals, and a coat of paint...i'm in about 200-300 bucks.

I can see why you suggest that I not jump into it myself. But we all gotta learn/start somewhere I'm not totally lost mechanically..I just didn't know they were called knuckles( lack of searching as you said) my main problem is I don't know where to find some parts like the spindles( I believe that's correct) that attach to the knuckles and which brake rotors/calipers I should go with( looking for most stopping power but keeping it toyota not aftermarket) the 6shooters look good but I wouldn't be doing any rock crawling so I think ill be fine with the reg. 4 bolts. I'm thinking a highsteer is in demand and I would try it without the hydro assist for a while..same with the 3rds..id def jump to 5.29's but i'd have to wait a while to raise funds for a selectable out front and just lock the rear( even tho I have read that its obviously cheaper to have the lockers installed while the new gears are getting set..might just wait a lil longer and get all the gearing and lockers done simultaniously) I think getting the housing trussed is a good idea no what..never know when you might get airborn...I might not be able to do all the work myself due to lack of knowledge and lack of a shop (YT can only help with one of those problems) but I sure as hell will gather and prep all the parts so the labor is a minimal as possible... another thing that sucks is that all the junkyards down here(miami,fl) only have 96+ toyota stuff in there...so that's of no help...so basically I'm really relying on YT for the knowledge and gathering of misc. parts and obviously the axle...I think the closest active poster on here would be Superbleeder,,I think imma ask him couple questions...

- There really isn't a need for a SAS since you're living in S. Florida. Just something to think about before you jump into that boot. The SAS kits that I've seen (just a few on vehicles out here to be sure) have virtually no engineering in them with regards to Ackerman angle. Anyway, that aside, as you even said, you're not doing rock crawling, so there isn't, really, a great need for SAS other that to say that you've got it

- If you're planning on air and ground acrobats, then a "long arm" kit (assuming that you're looking for some suspension lift) is a much better choice for you. Those are designed more for the aerobatics that you're thinking possible
