Newbie Hello & Super Noob questions...

Sup all! I'm new to Yotatech and 4 wheeling in general; but when I moved here to Oahu, I picked up a 92 4runner - locked, lifted, etc...

I've wheeled a Rubicon Unlimited while I was in CA - but it was my neighbors, so I really just took the weel while off road

A burning question I had for shifing into 4 Low -> with manual hubs, can i shift to 4 low, even with the front unlocked, just for rear wheel torque/power when climbing into parking garages? (you'd be amazed at how low the clearance is along w/steep angles, any bouncing would send my roof straight into a beam...)

Here's a pic as well - i'll continue lurking to find more answers...

Thanks!

Tesh

Well, I'm not sure about the shifting problem. Could be a transfer case issue?
Anyway, that is a pretty sweet truck, if you upload to photobucket.com you can use their url codes and post pictures of it in your text.
WELCOME TO YOTATECH!

Thanks for all the Welcomes Guys!

I'll be sure to get a photobucket (i probably had one, forgot the pw)

and yeah, I can shift into 4lo, locking the hubs and all, but I had wondered if shifting into 4lo with the front unlocked could do any damage to the transfer/or front LSD.

Forgot to mention the mods (that I know of, the guy I got it from did a handfull, and backed it all with reciepts):
-Detroit Rear locker / dunno if it's a Dana 44 axle, but there's a 44 chalked on the case
-Front Detriot LSD
-Alcoa Rims (popular in HI)
-Super Swampers (31's I believe)
-3" lift + helper bags in back to add another 2 i believe
-Red Torsion Bar up front (cant recall brand/spec)
-Class III hitch setup
-Chrome brush guard w/dual 5" or 6" fogs
-Step bars with Step plates
-Thule flat bar rack
-Borla system Header back
-custom leather padded seat interior, fitted mats, simple sound upgrades etc.

...lol...it's raining again (it rains alot i'm learning) so i'll have to double check that wheel setup - i used to be all street, i could name wheel sizing off the top of my head, but i have no clue how truck wheels are sized... (gonna read up on that..)

yeah, those side step bars are something different - the step paddles can come off, (i need to move em a bit to my liking), but iono, i'll stick w/em for now...since im broke

That's an awesome runner. Yes, a lot of people will use 4lo with the front hubs unlocked to say pull heavy loads on pavement for short distances, or something. I wanna see more pics!! (have no facebook)
