Need advice please

Long time Chevy Blazer Owner but I about to make the move within a month. I am getting a 1993 V6 4x4 Manual trans Pick up with 208k on it. Any advice? Things I need to look for? Maintenance that I should do first? If it hasnt been done yet. I am getting the vehicle from a friend of a friend and he has a lot of records for services. Also has new tires and comes with a matching topper. He's asking 3500 for it. Thanks in advance! And I look forwarded to learning a lot on this forum as I did with my blazer over the years.

ask your friend if the head gaskets have been done, there was a recall for those.
the 3.0 doesn't have the best reputation for realiability. some guys have no issues with them. One of my Pastors has almost 300K on his 92 and he has just done basic maintenance.

Thanks for the links and info - I will find out about the head gaskets. I am looking to make this my daily driver and get close to 300k myself!

Different things depending just where you live.

One has to look at just what was done and what will need to be done the normal brakes , suspension, steering and the big one rust.

Might be due for a timing belt when was it last done??

I live in Colorado and the truck has been here most of it's life. Pretty much rust free from what I've seen so far. Still need to take a closer look. Timing belt was done last year. Probably less than 20k ago. I am getting the VIN to check recalls. Owner has had the truck since 135k. It's got 208k now. He didn't know anything of the head gasket recall so maybe it was done before he got it. But if not and this engine falls under the recall then it should still be covered not matter how much time has passed? I'll be calling Toyota ahead of time if it hasn't been done yet. Thanks again! I am excited about becoming a Toyota truck owner and learning more about what I am getting into.
