E Brake Cable

I got me a new 84 extra cab and all it needs is an e brake cable and assembly. Could someone explain everything i need to get to install a brand new one? Any brackets specifically?

All pro makes an e brake.. Probably has instructions, just make sure you put the right batteries in!

Yeah there's the cable which goes from the hand brake lever to about midway down the underside of the truck. Then there's another, I think, which goes from the mid point, to the rear axle. From the rear axle, one cable goes to the right side, one to the left.

So you need to know which you need. And if the brake has been missing for a while, you may need to do some work to get all the moving parts unstuck. Otherwise you might pull it the first time, and it'll seize on you, in the "on" position, which would be lame.

Toyota sells the cables, as well as probably other parts stores and maybe Rock Auto. Once you know what you need, you can start searching for the part.
