Hey guys I am new here, got a small problem. I have a 97 4runner 3.4 SR5, has about 175,000 miles on it. I haven't had it long maybe 4 months, so I got in it today and got on it a little bit and it sputtered real bad, so I put it in park and revved it up and it misses, when I get on it hard driving down the road, it's like it has no power but gradually gets there with some back firing in the intake. No engine codes. I don't know how long it's been since it's been tuned up, just wanting to ask before I started throwing money at it.

 

bad gas?

 

sounds like water in the gas, or dirty fuel filter. check your air filter too just for a laugh.
