lower studs connecting backing plate to oil pan on 89 v6 pickup

lower studs connecting backing plate to oil pan on 89 v6 pickup

i have an 89 pickup, v6, 4wd, 3.0 efi. I am trying to replace the rear main seal and I am having trouble getting the two lower studs that connect the oil pan to the backing plate out! I don't know what to do! Help!
