Leaf springs

I have notice that some people on here has leaf springs in front of their rigs. Are they good to have in front? And how hard that to do that?

Try searching SAS.
I find that googling whatever I am looking for like this: SAS site:yotatech does wonders.
Chances are, your question has a simple answer and it has already been discussed at length here on yotatech.

I would prefer coilovers and links, but leafs are cheap and easy.

Can you cut, measure, weld? If yes, then pretty easy.

Check this kit out, has almost everything youll need and they have instructions on how to do it. You can see what it takes then decide if you want to go that way.

Really depends on what your using the truck for.

Actually, howstuffworks.com would be a better place to start.

should probably also make it clear that rigs with leaf springs in the front, also have a solid front axle. SAS= solid axle swap. Most guys use an 8" front axle out of a 79-85 Toyota pickup or 4runner, makes it pretty straight forward. Guessing you have IFS if you are asking about this.

'85 and earlier have factory leaf springs and a solid front axle. 86 and newer have independent front suspension. Some people remove the independent front suspension and swap in a solid axle and leaf springs or coilovers. A 4 link suspension with coilovers is ideal, as rattlewagon said, but leaf springs are cheaper easier to set up than links. Plus, most kits out there come with leaf springs. There are no 4 link/coilover kits out there that I know of.

Are they good to have in the front? It depends on what you're using the truck for, like the kind of offroading.
