Howdy Ya'll

Hello all

I'm a proud new owner of a 97 4Runner Limited. Just got it yesterday, because I was tired of digging my car out from the snow. Anyway, the 4Runner is pearl white with silver flare, have 144k mile, all from 1 owner. Overall shape is great, no rust, shift strong, nothing wrong with it really.

I'm here because I am a gear head by nature. I can't leave anything well alone. Basically I want more power out of this thing (got outrun by my cousin '07 'yota minivan). I want to know how strong is the drive drain on this thing? Mainly the AT tranny. Can I slap on the TRD supercharger, header, exhaust, and be ok with the stock tranny?

Thanks in advance. It is a great vehicle for being 10 years old. I know I'll enjoy it.

Go crazy on that thing. You tell me how tough she is. I'd tell ya if I knew, promise. Nobody told me, so I pushed her to the limit, and then further till things breaky. Is a rough road to travel that one, gotta be plenty devoted. I think you'll be mighty pleased with Toyota, and not gettin' stuck as much.

Welcome, sounds like you got a similar deal to mine. (99 one owner with 145k miles) I'm guessing you'll be happy, I know I am.

You'll probably want to do fuel mods and the VB upgrade if you want the engine to last a while.

not to be a jerk, but why did you get a 4runner to race people? i can think of about 5000 cars that would be a better choice for outrunning people, if i wanted a fast car id go looking for a supra, not a 4runner.

What would be the "fuel mods" (fuel pump, injectors,...)? And what is VB stand for? Where can I get it?

As far as racing the minivan go, it was my cousin, he drove me to pick up the truck. So on the way back we were just messing around, and he won. But knowing him, that will not be the last I'll hear from him.

For the picture, I don't know how to post. But it's very much like any 4runner Limited out there.

Again, thanks for the reply. I am here to learn.
