Newbie...Noises and Vibrations!

First off I want to tell tou guys your got a great site going here, There is so much info, I am highly impressed. Anyway, I just bought my first 4wd Yota as my new daily driver/project. Its an 86 single cab in mint shape. It has high mileage but low mileage on a replacement motor. (43,000) Well I went and picked up the truck tonight and I have a few concerns after a 2 hour drive home. Number one, What would cause a popping, clicking sound when steering is at full lock, It was in 2wd and hubs were unlocked. Would a bad cv make noise even in 2wd? Also I have a vibration with almost a growling sound when I let off the gas at highway speeds. as soon as you get back on the gas it goes away. I checked the u-joints and I dont have any play so any other ideas? Also I know 22rs are famous for a little valve rattle, But is there any way to quiet it down some Everytime you hit decent rpms mine goes to rattling, Would a simple valve adjustment fix that? Sorry for so many questions. This is my first Yota and I figured you guys would know best. I sold my other vehicles to get something reliable. Thanks for any help!

Welcome, the popping sound at full turn is normal. you can put some grease on the steering stops if you want to make it go away. Don't know anything about the 22r so hopefully someone else will chime in.

Phew thats one thing off my concerns. Now if I could figure this vibration. I noticed when I change gears I sometimes hear a thud sound too, I dont know if maybe something in the rear end is a lil weird, cause the guy included an extra rear diff but didnt tell me why.

As long as you have the grease out for the steering stops, it sounds like you need to grease your drive shafts and u-joints, as well. That will probably take care of the drive line sounds you are hearing.
