How do I get rid of the seatbelt buzzer?
I've got a 10 taco crewcab, bought used in 2013. I took it to a dealer and had the seatbelt buzzer de-activated but recently a WalMart tech did something that got it buzzing again. I took it back to my local dealer, he hooked it to the computer and got a reading that wouldn't allow him to find and disable the buzzer again. We're both stumped. Any ideas?

I don't know about your newer, fancier vehicles but on my 31-YO truck I just disconnected the connector that goes to the belt buckle switch. Done. I don't need any reminder to put on my seatbelt.

Wow on newer Trucks the seat belt Buzzer is tied into the OBDII system
So if the seat belt is not buckled the truck will not move or start
Protect us from Ourselves .
What next on board blood and urine tests before it moves.
The last tech had no clue !!
It comes down to if the circuit needs to be complete or open so the connector going into the seat is either going to be unplugged and the buzzer will not buzz or it needs to be jumped to keep it from buzzing.
Since the same buzzer is used for open doors and the lights being on and is buried it is a pain to just disconnect .

I hate things that think they're smarter than humans.

If computer wants to see an open, simply unplug the connector. If computer wants to see a closed switch, simply unplug the connector and jump the pins.
