Emergency Brake Light Comes on Intermittently

Hello,

Have an issue with the Emergency brake light… it will turn on intermittently for a few seconds as I drive around town but the emergency brake is not engaged. I’ve noticed it turns on only when I make turns or speed up / slow down quickly but it’s not guaranteed to happen everytime… does anyone know what the cause is?

Thanks. Really appreciate you taking your time and sharing your expertise.

Maybe try checking your brake fluid level. If it is just above the min line, it will slosh when cornering, and set the light for a sec or 2.

Usually is but if some how that does not fix it test the continuity of the switch open and closed and giggle it when testing. Most likely Fluid but hey some times.
And don't forget to post fix for future readers even if it is embarrassing!!!
I have had my share of Embarrassing fixes!!!

When adding the fluid, make sure you go all the way to the max line. Mine was doing the same thing and was only about a 1/4 inch below max.

If your fluid is low, you also need to check your brakes. The amount of fluid between the max and min is usually equal to the amount of fluid it takes to push the pads or shoes (from new to worn), if you don't have a leak.
