I know theres a way im sure theres a thread i just cant find one.

hmmmm but that wouldnt help at all for flex and would get in the way for wheeling right???? lol its somewhat normal for the axle to twist a lil right? see he has a 7in lift on 35s am sure its geared it has too but im not sure maybe if he geared down more? my dad has a 89 on 35x14.5 with a built engine and he dont twist like that ... i was like HOLY hes going to break the ujoint lol or drive shaft lol

Is he using lift blocks as part of his lift ?, they can cause axle wrap real bad, thats why its not a good idea to use them. I have 16'' of lift on my 86 4Runner and i don`t get any axle wrap at all, so maybe his lift isn`t set up right ?.

The blocks cause a lot of the axle wrap because it increases leverage on the springs. A trac bar does not increase or reduce flex. It just keeps the axle from twisting. It also does not get in the way while wheeling, the differential hangs down farther than a trac bar.

The solution is link it.

Leaf springs are always prone to axle wrap. There are things you can do to minimize it, but always at the expense of flex or ride comfort.

Leaves are cheap and easy, but as with all things, there is a price to pay for the cheap/simple solution.

Another option is to add an anti-wrap leaf to the top of the spring pack:

Basically a half leaf that is held under the spring plate and arched so as to pull up on the front of the spring pack to resist the axle itself twisting:

Does not eliminate axle wrap but goes a long way to controlling it, especially at low speed like rock crawling. And does not affect the ride or suspension travel or flex. I run them front and rear on my '85.
