clutch question

clutch question

wats the best way to remove the bearing behind the flywheel. i dont want to go digging with a screwdriver..

Get a inside bearing puller. Prolly the easiest. Others use grease and/or pieces of wet paper and then tap a dowel/rod into the center to push it out (i've seen youtube videos of this, try searching for it).

I tried that with a Corvette pilot bearing and couldn't get it to work.

I know you have probably already solved this, but the easiest way to get it out is to pack the hole with grease and lightly tap a bolt in the hole that is slightly smaller than the hole. As you tap the bolt, it builds hydraulic pressure and forces the bearing out. I just did this on my truck several weeks back after we discovered that most pullers wouldn't fit the hole. I had someone tell me they use the ball end of the alignment tool that comes with the clutch kit instead of a bolt. Here is a pretty good write-up for the clutch replacement.

Wow! thankyou thats exactly what i needed. im replacing my 22re and dont have to much experience. i think collecting a bunch a good write ups is saving me. only problem i see having now is just finding where all the vacume lines and wires go.

whats the best way to put it back in? and kinda off topic but im swapping 22re's with a 94 22re 120k. how much will i gain from cleaning the fuel injectors? im just afraid once i start taking stuff off before it being in the truck im going to get lost. but im sure its goto be good to clean the efi.
