I would say check the 3.4 swap section

When has this changed about the Crossover pipe ??

I think I saw something that it needs to be made of the original parts

Quite a few have passed smog out there .

California who can tell.

Not so much the slave cylinder it is the fuel tank being on the right side.

Some have just dropped the exhaust straight down and made the crossover underneath .

The Down side is then ground Clearance

Then it also depends what the State will pass.

I've been reading up on the 3.4 swap for a while now and I will be attempting the same: 3.4 manual swap in CA. I know that Dntsdad has done a manual swap with a passenger side drop. You can find the full build here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f160...ex-cab-196823/

He completed the swap by using a transmission from the "passenger drop" vehicle and left off the front driveline (page 14 of build thread). This arrangement -- and the 1.5" BL -- gave him the room to drop the exhaust down the passenger side and all the way past the last O2 sensor. After that sensor, he crossed back over to the driver side muffler. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f160...3/index17.html

After he got back from the BAR, he put back in the R150 he wanted and routed the exhaust down the driver side.

Others have done the passenger side drop and passed, but most of those threads are with automatic transmissions.

I don't think it can be done with the 1989 transmission. You will have to do a similar route as Dntsdad and get a different transmission -- with the clutch slave on the driver's side -- and leave off the front driveline. Once you are past the BAR, you can install the 1989 transmission and drop the exhaust down the driver's side.

Now, I'm just going off the little I've found on a manual-transmission, passenger-side drop. Others would have to chime in on what they've done/tried.
