Backpressure?

Im going to be cutting out the cat and putting a cherry bomb on my 86 22re pickup. will it have enough backpressure with just a straight pipe? right now its only getting 15 mpg on stock tires so im thinking the cat and/or muffler is plugged.

Yes.

Better question is, will it be loud/quiet enough? Maybe you don't care about the noise level, or maybe you do.

I dont really care about the noise, now im thinking of putting a stack on it... the beds so rusted itll be easy to cut through. Anyone know how much O2 sensors are for these trucks? im thinking of getting a new one to help with the gas mileage. 15 mpg is terrible since my gmc with a 350 and 33s got 13 and it wasnt babied

I'm wondering it you cut out the cat doesn't that make the o2 sensor useless?
