Automatic tranny slipping!

Hello all. I have a 1994 4runner. It has 188,000 miles and the transmission just started to slip the other day when i drove it. It only slips when its cold. Once it warms up its fine. Ive changed the oil in it 3 times and its still coming out dirty. Also the a/t temp oil light comes on after about an hour of driving on the highway or sooner if i drive up a hill. Also the slipping is mainly noticable in the 2-3 upshift as well as the other gears but not so much on the higher ones. Basically it revs up past where it should be shifting and when i let off the gas it shifts. Also when i put it in reverse it gives me a pretty good jolt. Like i said to this only occurs when the car is cold. Once its warmed up its fine except for the a/t oil temp light coming on. Any suggestions would be aprreciated.

cool thanx bunch. The only problem is i just bought the car about a month ago. It was fine when i bought it. All the gears were working good, no slipping or anything. Then all of the sudden i started it up and it was slipping. I was thinking about puttin another tranny in. What about that lucas stuff. You think it might help? Heard its pretty good who knows.

Guess you can always try. No matter what the claims there are no such thing as 'miracle' fluids like the stuff that fixes compression issues and stop leak stuff. The thing to do is fix the problem instead of trying to patch it

Seafoam trans-tune, available anywhere seafoam is sold, works excellent, my cousin used it on a truck that was slipping, and he is still driving it 20k later, little-to-no slipping.
