Exclamation anybody heard of this before?

i just rebuilt my A340F auto transmition and i filled it with 9 quarts, stopped a night to make sure didn't over fill then the next day filled all the way to the right mark.

the next day i came in and trans fluid was on the ground.

what could it be? it think that the fluid from the torque converter drained and it went into the t-case and filled it all the way up and out the stub of the breather tube on the top. if it was a seal it would have leaked the night before.

if you could help it would be really nice to have my truck running for the snow...
THANKS

or maybe bad pan gasket or dipstick tube not sealed well. Also to get fluid to drain out or even fill the tc you'd need the motor running to run the pump.

no not the tc the t-case because my trans shares oil with the transfer case. and the t-case is the lowest part of the trans.

I thought you always checked automatic transmission fluid levels with the motor running and the transmission up to temp (to keep from overfilling). Of course it's a bit hard to tell if that's part of the cause as I can't tell if you ran the engine in between fill steps.

Manual says capacity is 4.8qts for A340H.

If you poured 9 quarts in, you sure you poured it in the right hole?

Also, as mentioned above, you check/top off the transmission with the engine running and in park.
