Any ideas where to get fuel level sending unit!?

Hey, I have an 1982 Toyota 4x4 pickup with a stock 22r in it. I found that when I bought it, the fuel gauge didn't work, so I tracked the problem down to the fuel level sending unit which I tested and found that it was faulty. Any ideas where I could buy one? And how much it would be? Any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated. Thank you!

I would bet they are obsolete at the dealer your only option may be to go with a after market sending unit that is calibrated to work with the factory gauge

another one you could go with a complete after market set up gauge and sending unit .

Most after market units will not matchup, Ohm wise, with Toyota Fuel Level Gauges. You could take your unit to an automotive gauge repair service and they might be able to repair it. I just got an OEM replacement unit for a friend of mine, from my Toyota dealer, about 6 months ago.

Just to clarify things when I said go after market i meant complete set up sending unit and gauge.

If i had to I could sit down and figure out how to calibrate any after market sending unit to the factory gauge. I am behind so as it is on paying shop work.

Just stopping now to have coffee and let things cool

If you check Summit racing .

When I could not find a sending unit I looked into doing that they come in a kit that gives you every thing you would need .

Not sure about the wire but there where a bunch of different ones.:jessica:

I got a used one from a person that has a post in the classified section on Marlin's site. Has a Toyota salvage yard or something. Pages and pages of requests for parts.

Hope it's OK to mention another site.
