Adjustable shocks or running different shocks front and rear

Ok first off guys I have searched "shocks" and did not get what I am after.

1982 hilux, 33" muds 4" lift (high country shocks currently)

2nd: Although this truck is my 2nd car I will be trying to drive it as much as possible. I hate letting things sit. I will be using this truck in town and also out on ranches. My pals and I love to varmint hunt and the truck has a rear rack with captains seats for spot lighting. What I am getting at here is running some adjustable shocks either all the way around or possibly just in the rear. I want adjustable shocks b/c I like the truck firm on the road and I do do a little wheeling however when cruising around the ranch with people in the back I want it to be be softer so they don't get bounced out of their seats.

Only shocks I know about are rancho 9000s adjustable.Air bags would be great but out of my price range.

So who runs the ranchos or other adjustable shocks? Who runs the setup all they way around or just in the rear?

Thanks guys.
Jeremy

I've run RS9000s on all 4 corners of my '85 for 12 years or so now. The older models were OK, not a great shock but adjustable. I now have the gas-charged 9000XLs and they are a lot nicer and still fully adjustable. I also run the in-cab adjuster and find I use that all the time on and off road.

Thanks for the help. You wouldn't happen to have the exact model # of shock you went with for that application would you? Also it appears now they are selling a wireless adjustable unit. I can't seem to find the old in cab unit they used to sell on their site.

Thanks for the info!

My setup is not stock, but I am running the 9012 (12" travel) fronts and some 14" travel rears. Best to measure the length shock you need:

The airbags I looked at were $800 and that was just the pumps and for the REAR only.

he ordered them out of a magazine at Walmart..like truckin' magazine or something..

no pumps..just ran the lines to the rear of the truck where he has 2 valves...hook up an air hose at a gas station and air em up to whatever PSI ya want.

if you want the pump...then get a Cadillac air pump from a junkyard for cheeappp!!!!!
