Im Finally Lifted

Yup, after about 3 hours we got the front spacers, front Nuke discos, rear coils, and front/rear shocks put in. we also grinded down the front A-arms about 3mm so the 285s wont rub. the installation overall was a breeze.

i would like to give a special thanks to Ron for the spacers, they were cheap, but high in quality. this guy is great, definately recommned him.

In addition, i need to especially thank Paul (Bratik) for his tools, knowledge, and especially his time. i think i would still be wrenchin if it wasnt for him.

The lift is about 2.75" front, 3" rear...for now. i expect the front to drop to 2.5" and the rear to drop to 2.5"-2.75". the front CVs look fine, no fins are touching. the ride quality is excellent, very similar to stock. the front is a tad stiffer (better). the rear is softer over the big bumps and it dampens the smaller bumps better.

my tires dont come until monday, so im still riding around on my stock goodyears. ill update monday.

Overall, im happy . i would do everything the exact same way again.

That is great to hear. I am glad that you are happy with it and I can't wait to see what it looks like. You will most definitely have to give pictures so we can take a look at it! Goodjob! :beaver:

Sounds wicked, looking forward to the pics.

2.75" and 3" lifts are awesome. Were there any special considerations for this much lift, i.e. extended diff breather lines, brake lines, etc.?

well we looked at the rear brake line b/c it concerned me. we dropped the axle to full droop with the coils in and no shocks and there was still slack in the brake line. so after that i decided to leave it alone.

im not gonna worry about the panhard bar, cant even tell if its off-center.

other than that...nothing i can think of.

Cool. My main concern about the lifts were the brake lines snapping when it drops or flexes.

Next year I'll be thinking seriously about getting lifts myself. Now show me the money! Err..."pics" even..

UPDATE: got my tires on last nite, they're awesome. right away i checked the a-arms for clearance...barely cleared. but at full lock and full droop, the sidewall rubs the tires.

next, i flexed the suspension to the max to check the clearance and the brake line. the rear tires rubbed on the rear mud flap and the front nicked the corners of the fenders. the brake line is fine.

so this morn i grinded the a-arm some more, rounded off the fenders, and pounded the rear mud flap in. then i tested again...no more rubbing in front and the rear is minimal. wait, just remebered to check the driveshaft contact...will do that later.

overall, i love the tires, the road noise is minimal and the ride is smooth. now i gotta go test them out off road, be back lata!
