4runner 4x4 not engaging
Hey guys, I'm brand new here. I'm in need of some help pretty bad! And let me just say I know very little about these 4runners.
Here's the deal, about 2 weeks ago I bought a 95 4runner 4x4 as a little project. I've done a lot to it so far and have it running good...so I took it to the offroad park the other day. when I put it in 4low I can feel it engage and get lots of torque and all so I assumed the 4x4 was working as it should be. Thing is, it wasn't until I was in the mud I realized only my back wheels were spinning...and yeah I got pretty stuck.
I came home and did lots of reading about it and saw a lot about the vacuum lines being a big deal. I pulled the ones off going from the engine bay to the front dif and they weren't clogged or cracked or anything. Then I found some type of valve or something on the passenger side of the engine bay that has a line going in to it but no line coming out the bottom of it. I'm thinking this may be my problem?? If one of you can tell me where the line runs to once it exits the check valve I'm gonna go get some vacuum hose and plug it up. Maybe that'll fix it. But I can't for the life of me figure out where it goes!! Thanks y'all!
