94 4x4 not engaging...please help...

when put into 4low the truck crawls but dash indicator lights not coming on and the front wheels arn't turning in low or high. There's a connector easily visable on front of the front diff and its not hooked up to anything, not sure why, (bought the truck like this), and not sure where a wire is too hook up to it.

wondering if thise connector even activates the diff or just a wire/connector telling the dash the "4wd" is hooked indicator light? anyone know?

also, if this is true and it's just an indicator, what's causing the front diff to not engage? electrical or mechanical?

Please help, I'd like to hit the beach and not almost get stuck like last time, lol.

Thanks

The light will come on when the front diff locks in.

Check the two vacuum lines that go to the diff that actuate the ADD sleeve. There might be a tear in the line(s) causing insufficiant vaccum to get to the differential..

thanks but need more info...

just look for a tear in the lines? if I don't see one is there a way to test it? the light doesn't come on but I also think that's gotta partially be because the connector on the diff is not hooked up. I looked under the truck today for 5 minutes to see if there was a hanging wire that's suppose to be hooked up to the diff but didn't see one. where will the wires source be that's suppose to hook up to the diff and is it an actuator signal or just a indicator light for the dash?

thanks again.
