4runner 4WD transmission

4runner 4WD transmission
93 4Runner SR5, V6 3.0, 4WD
Transmission out and can not find a rebuilt unit to replace or anyone who wants to mess with it.
Anyone have an experience with this one?? I'm a handy guy and rebuilt engines in the past but never have been in a automatic trans. have been calling everywhere and starting to run out of options.
Any suggestions??
Should I tackle it myself??
Different (newer) trans which would fit and replace this one??
Any Toyota Guru out there feel confident to rebuild it - I'll ship it over
