350 vs. 3.4

350 vs. 3.4
I'm sure this question has been beat up plenty but I havta ask it anyways. I have a 90 4runner with a 3.0 and auto transmission. I'm looking to do a swap on it and I have a 350 that I could use but I have been reading on here about the 3.4 and I just wanna weigh the pros and cons on the two. Any info would help because this will be my first swap and I would like it to be a good one. Thanks in advance.

It all comes down to what you want and your frustration level.Skill level also plays a big part .
Some things look impossible but to others it is something done without really giving it much thought.
If your doing it on a low buck budget going with the engine in hand makes sense if you know the history of the engine.
Till you source a 3.4 depending on mileage look at things and replace as needed to not have to be fixing it during the shake down cruise.
As far as the electrical end the 3.4 is going to be a lot easier and much more information being a more popular swap.
It always seems like the major things go smooth it is the lack of the right hose or wrong bolts that throws Mr. Murphy into the mix.
The words first swap could be interesting things are seldom as easy as they look.
In any case good luck

No emission ref in Colorado...yet im sure that will come with time. One other question I forgot to ask was will the stock tranny hold up with a 3503 or would I also have to do so work there?

No matter what there is going to be a weak link.
Strengthen that you now have something else.
it all comes down to your use of the skinny pedal.
I thought you had all ready checked out all the swap threads here and on other forums.
Read as much as you can separate the wheat from the chaff
