22RE crate motor?

Just bought a 92 4x4 truck, needs an engine. Bought as a project for son and myself to build. Looking for a crate motor to install. any suggestions on a good company to buy from. Thanks

oregon enigine doesnt do a crate motor if im correct all I could buy from them was a long block

I had mine built from Sunwest. Since I installed it three years ago,I've not had any issues,or repairs with the motor.

Thanks for all the suggestions guysd, I got an engine from oregon engine builders, about halfway through the install and doing good. need to find gasket that goes between the heater hose and the intake...wasn't in the gasket kit that came with the motor, any Ideas?

oil at break-in?

What oil is bestr for break in? I understand no synthetic, and no fram filter. Was thinking castoroil GTX 10-40. suggestions please.

valvoline 10/30 is what engnbldr recommended to me and after the first 3000 miles I switched to the valvoline 15/40 and also use rotella 15/40. He rec'd the valvoline because of it's higher zinc content than any other oils on the market. As far as filters go, the thread on here talking about filters and whatnot convinced me to use the pureone filter.

he also rec'd that i change after the first 30 minute or so break in again at 500 miles and again at 1500 then at 3000 and every 3000 after that.

10w-30 For regular use I run amsoil 10w40 for the flat tappet.

put nothink but a toyota oil filter on it my friend. thats the best thing you can do for that new truck
