Rabbit. i have looked. been looking all morning..the search criteria sucks! it brings stuff i dont even need.. a few questions i really need answered are

1. what to torque the bolts to when installing the pucks
2. do i need any extensions like for steering, bumpers, 4 wheel drive stick or anything of that nature.
3. best company to buy from

any simple answers would be appreciated.. plus if someone else has the same questions they can simply type in body lift and this info will show up EASILY. making the search more convenient..just my opinion.. thanks guys

Don't know about the torque specs, but I believe Sonoran Steel and Wab Fab both carry body lifts. For one inch, I doubt you will need any extensions. Going rate should be 2-3 hours @ what ever your mechanic charges (~$90/hr?)

Check out Roger Brown's (AKA: 4crawler) website Body Lift FAQ it should provide most of your answers.

IMO if you can turn a wrench and have access to some blocks and a couple of floor jacks you can install a BL yourself. Sure someone else could knock it out for you in a few hours but no satisfaction in that

I have a 1 in BL on my 95 4runner and it went on very easy. I would say do it yourself and learn some things about your rig. And I didn't need any extensions at all.....just don't lift the body too high cause you could put some unnecessary strain on parts that don't need to be strained.

i would go to 4crawler and do it yourself. it is super easy, just lift the body enough to put the pucks in. and only do one side at a time. it will only take you 2-3 hrs by yourself, or 1-2 with help.

The FSM should have torque specs for the body bolts: http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/2003/index.html

It may seem a little confusing at first. I know when I was looking at which kit to go with I did a lot of searching and reading, and just kept putting it off. I would say now just contact 4Crawler and get it shipped. There are step by step instructions to walk you through the install, and in less than an hour or two you'll be riding higher.

Yes, no need to reef down on those bolts, it's not like a head bolt or wheel lug nut after all. You just want to make sure all the parts are fully seated, the body mount bushings are compressed slightly and the nuts are nice and tight on the bolts so they don't loosen up.

You can adjust the shift linkage for the lift:

dang all of this seems like a more trouble than its worth (talking about the 1 inch lift period) seems like it would be easy for me just to cut out some of the wheel well guards to keep from rubbing a full flex.. the reason why i wanted the lift is bc on my 02 taco it has 245/75/16 tires and i want 265/75/16's and from what i read it will rub at full flex when the wheel is turned. any other ideas perhaps?
