Well, one option is to put on the tires. If they rub, start trimming. If they still rub and you can't (or don't want to) trim any more, then do the body lift. Not a lot of work on a 1" lift, maybe 3-4 hours install time, aside from adjusting the A/T shift linkage and installing the steering shaft extension, not a lot of things to deal with.

10-4, i think thats what i am gonna do! atleast ill have this to check back to, also other people using the search can look this up with easy aside from all of the BS you have to sift thru when using the search button..thanks again guys for your time!

I did mine in about 1,.5 hours including raising the bumper and installing the steering spacer. I used about a foot or so 2x4 and found the middle and raised one side at the time, i also had to loosen the other side for some movement. It is really simple.

I did a 1" 4crawler on my FJ60 and it was pretty simple. I had to modify the fan shroud a bit but nothing major. Putting one on my Runner soon. I believe with a 1" you may get away without modifying the auto shifter, but if needed there is some adjustment room. I have an auto as well.

I just put on 2" body lift. took me about 2 hours and cost me in total almost $25. 2" square steel ,1/8" thick, 3" long with a hole in the middle, x10 and some new bolts. Better then a bought one...

For those that find this thread later the above description is a perfect example of how NOT to do a body lift!
