???Which way???

Question for all you experinced yota drivers! i just recently just got my 89 yota for 500 bucks and all it needed was a new clutch so i figured i scored a pretty good on it ( 3.0 5 speed) paint was a nasty off white so my buddy had a little extra green paint layin around so we sprayed it and sprayed a bedliner in, so far i havent put much money into it, im looking hard into doin the 3.4 swap but anyone have any other suggestions on what i should do? im open to anything

if you want to use it for cruising as well, i'd say stay away from major lifts. Get some good tires that'll do good on road and off (i'm sure if you search its been covered a million times). I'd also consider maybe a 1-2" lift. Get a sweet stereo and a custom exhaust and you're golden.

i wasnt gunna do a major lift cuz its no longer practical with these stupid gas prices unless your rich, which is another reason i wanna go with the 3.4, i already slapped me on a nice paint job and the truck already had nice tires, bedliner, the interior is still cherry cuz some old guy had it and covered everything with seat cover and floor mats with a trash bag, im just interested in what you guys have done to help me your rig nicer

My advice: 5VZFE.

Be prepared to drop at least $3000-4000, though, unless you do most of the work yourself.

It's a pretty easy swap. The wiring is the hardest part. The rest of it you can pick up on the cheap, and over time, if you're patient enough.

drls

2007 4runner sport. Does this model have drls or are they optional. I thought all relatively new cars had drls as standard equip. Yes, no, or maybe so. thanks, dalew

$500 wheeler:

Get an idler arm brace and a spare idler arm
Put a locker in the rear axle
get some 31 inch tires
go have fun.

When the engine blows up, put in the 3.4
When the IFS gives out, Solid axle swap

Consider a rear bumper and some corner protection because it is going to be dragging on stuff. Sliders are a fun weekend project too.
