Body Lift for 4th gen 4runner

has anyone installed a Roger Brown body lift on a 4th gen 4runner yet? I'm thinking of getting one, but it looks like I'd have to modify my rear bumper to fit around the frame. anybody know anything about this?

I don't know if RB even makes one for a 4th genner. Email him and ask him yourself...

yes and you can actually keep your stock bumper and still run the 1.5" BL from roger brown.

Have you checked in to the Daystar suspension spacer lift. My 4th gen (stock) measures 8" clearance at the front skid, and FirstToy measured at 12" at the front skid. Huge difference! He runs the Daystar 2.5" spacer lift and 265/70/17 tires, but his tires probably only account for an extra 3/4" of clearance at the most. I wasn't a believer of the spacer until I saw this difference. Didn't know that the spacer would add ground clearance.

I allready have the downey suspension lift and it clears my 285/70/17's no problem... just thinking of going bigger.

r0cky and ahriman both have RB body lifts installed. I dont know where ahriman has been, but ask r0cky for some pics.

BTW if you want to go bigger you might want to consider regearing.

i got mine from roger brown ... looks really nice and helps a lot with clearance.

I also can make 1.25" (same price as the 1.5") which allows the front bumper bracket to line up exactly, at 1.5" you are about 1/4" higher on the body and at 1", you are 1/4" low, the bumper bolt holes are spaced about 1.25" apart.

Easy as apple pie (just like any other BL install)

1. loosen steering rod (or else your steering will be tight)
2. remove bolts on driver/passenger side (work on one side at a time)
3. raise driver/passenger side (the side you're working on) - use a floor jack and some 2x4's
4. install new body spacer
5. install new bolts
6. do the same to the other side
7. install radiator drop backet
8. double check install by checking all bolts (includes radiator, body lift and steering).
9. picture and test drive.

actually, it's a little more complicated than that ... some of the body mounts are very difficult to get to, and you need to pay attention to the bolts because they are of multiple lengths, and you will need to take note of where the longer ones go.

don't know how to explain it.

Short bolts go outside, Long bolts go inside (i think that was it for me. should check though - if you're not sure, measure the bolts prior to mixing it up). Reuse washers.
