Alignment problem

After having the suspension replaced and having the allignment done it continued to pull to the right. I took it back, they realligned it and rotated the tires. It is still out of allignment and now I have to take it back again! Any thoughts....
Tired of having my truck in the shop

generally when they align it several times and things still aren't right, it is either poor equipment and/or operator at the shop or tires are creating a pull. also, depending on how bad the roads are crowned in your area can affect sterring and pulling concerns. highly crowned roads generally tend to make the vehicle pull to the right some. this is not always true, but have seen it happen.

Is it possible that there's a part of the suspension or steering that wasn't replaced that could be causing the problem? Or maybe a part that was replaced was defective?

It could also be a tire/tire pressure issue.

What I've done before is found a straight section of 2 lane road with no traffic, and moved over into the left lane to see if it still has the same amount of pull to the right (or used the left lane on a 4 lane road). If it still pulls right, or doesn't pull at all (which would be due to the crown in the opposite direction negating the truck's pull), then the crown in the road isn't the problem.

My truck pulls alot, and follows grooves pretty bad, although the pull and groove following isn't always in the same direction. Very soon I'm going to be installing a 3" lift and 33" BFG All Terrains to replace the stock tires. After I have it aligned, I think it will handle better, since I'll have new tires.

Roads are not crowned-So. Cal. Using the dealership....so it could be poor operator. Tires are new, but they were on the truck prior to the allignment issues.

William
Not sure about the suspension possability
Tire pressure is fine
Why does your truck pull alot and follow grooves????

Read and memorize this, you might learn more about alignments than the technician doing it...

I had the same issue with a dealership back in '97 on a brand new Corolla, they tried to blame the tires, which Firestone replaced for free, then they just kept insisting that we just had to live with it as the "computer" said all the numbers were right even though everybody from the dealership that drove the car felt that something was wrong.

After going round and round with everyone all the way to some bigshot in California they finally agreed to pay the bill if I took it elsewhere as long as I didn't bug them again.

I took it to a small garage with an older mechanic that was doing alignments since before I was born, it was perfect, drove like a dream, and never wore the tires funny.

Sometimes you're better off finding a "true" mechanic, not just someone who took a bunch of courses but, someone who really knows what to do beyond what the "computer" print-out tells them.

Good Luck, I hope everything works out for you, I know exactly how frustrated you feel, especially with a new car that you expect to be right!

I think it's the tires. My lift should arrive soon, and once it does, I'll get new tires and have an alignment done. That should pretty much eliminate the problem.

no lift, picked it up from the dealership yesterday. they said they "tweeked" the numbers a bit to counter balance the allignment but so that it will not wear the tires unevenly, they still however were not able to correct the problem. now they have ordered new front coil overs suspecting that one maybe softer than the other, causing the drift. this was not an issue when i bought the truck so i am not sure why it would be a problem now. it seems toyota doesn't really know what is wrong. cant wait to leave my truck at the dealership for another day!!!
