Add Horsepower

What would you guys recommend as a mod in order to net an additional 40HP or so?

supercharger or turbo. Not much else will get you that much.

Wouldn't the Supercharger add a lot more HP?

Do they make one for the 4.7?

Any idea of the cost and the installation charge?

Yes they do make one for the 4.7, and yes it makes more than 40hp. If I remember correctly it was somewhere around 110ish! Made it quicker than a Porsche Cayenne. (non turbo)

The super charger itself is several thousand dollars. Install would likely be around 500-1000

i got one in my 02 4x4 and the TRD single pipe exhaust.

it is insanely fast...70+ xtra ftlbs of torque and AT LEAST 110hp...and the pipe sings quite a pretty tune...and i just put a K+N filter (not the pipe, it's loud enough) and all in all i reckon i'm at a little under 350 horsepower.

it's fun smokin' jokers....dont lose too many drag races...esp w/rolling start...gotta get it up to about 35-40 mph until the boost really starts to fire hard

anywho...best thing you could do for more power...offroad i can just barrel over stuff. the price estimates y'all are givin seem a little low tho...

Yeah, I figure about $3500 for the supercharger (installed). I think a turbo would be half price. But 350 HP is too much for that car. It can't handle that power. I was just looking to get it 300 HP for mods under $1,000...or maybe just increase the torque....

sure it can handle the power. TRD wouldnt make it if it couldnt. TRD is owned by toyota so you know they arnt doing anything dumb. I hvae installed a couple of those blowers and they make such a great difference. You would be very happy with it

320 ft/lbs of tq isnt enough for you! I find it plenty in my v8 4Runner.
