'03 V8 Runner upgrades...

I did a K&N cold air intake and although it feels a bit juicier, I haven't dyno'd it to confirm HP gains. I did pick up an average of 1-2 mpg on average, which quickly paid for the upgrade. Planning a Borla catback exhaust in the near future, will report...Good luck....

I really want to do the supercharger but I'm not sure why they don't list it compatible with the V8 4runner. That Borla exhaust is really nice I'm going to look into it and a K&N intake if no one can tell me why the supercharger will not work.

I have an 04 4runner V8, was the K&N cold air intake the best choice? I noticed there are several to choose from.

thanks

yes the 4.7L V8 TRD S/C will fit on your 4.7L as they are the same motor. Then do some URD upgrades.

TRD told me the S/C wouldn't fit my '03 2UZ due to clearance issues.

The CAI and cat-back are the way to go.

I also lightened up by ditching the spare (Fix-A-Flat) and tools plus ran 92 octane that might have helped power a little. I gained +1mpg just from dropping weight.

Needless to say, I didn't go off-road.

I got my Volant intake sitting out in the garage I still haven't put on but I hear it really helps out.
