Would this engine fit????

I was just looking around for different engine options for an engine upgrade and I came across the '07 4.0L DOHC V6 out of the '07 Tacoma/Tundra. With 236 bhp@5200 rpm and 266 lb/ft @4000 for $3799.00 and $650.00 core, it seems like an alright deal. But would it even fit in the engine bay? I mean a lexus v8 shoehorns in there. Has anyone researched this motor yet? I like the specs so Id like to see if it could work.

Anyone???

go with the 3.4 5vze, much easier retrofit.

any conversion can be done with enough work.

I think there was a guy attempting this conversion on this board, but I have not seen the thread recently. Try a search

if you can get that motor for a great price, heck why not put it in there. you would be the first! that motor i think is way better than the 5vz-fe(3.4L). but you also hafta get a new tranny also!

hmm I hadnt thought about the tranny, so I didnt look at the cost. But at the price I saw, it looked like a decent deal for a brand spankin new motor. And I was saving up for an SAS but my motor is starting to act a little funky and its my DD so I cant pull the motor to work on it. So more than likely I am going to have to buy a new one. I know a 3.4 would be easier by far.

Oh and sorry, I figured no one had done this swap yet, so I didnt even think about searching for an old thread.

Not even close to the first one to do it:

All you need is time, talent and lots of money!
